The sun was shining bright on a hot spring day. My entire family was there. It was my first baseball game ever. I was playing right field. Davis was up at bat. His dugout was screaming and cheering him on. I didn’t know whether or not, if I wanted to hit it my way or not. The pitcher threw the ball, “Ball 1”, the umpire yelled. “Ball 2”, he yelled again then on the next pitch “dink” I heard the sound of the bat and it caught my attention and I looked up and followed the ball. I put my glove in the air hoping I would catch it. Then I caught the ball. The runner on first base started to second, then he noticed I caught it so he went back to first base, but the ball was there first. I was so happy when I saw the ump call him out to end the inning. I got so many high fives in the dugout, I couldn’t help but smile.
